The Solaris 8 Operating Environment System Administrator I course provides information about the essential tasks of standalone installation, file system management, backup procedures, process control, user administration, and device management. Students taking this class will gain the necessary knowledge and skills to perform these essential system administration tasks in the Solaris Operating Environment. See schedule
Solaris 8 Operating Environment System Administrator II (30 hours)
The Solaris 8 Operating Environment System Administration II course provides students with the skills necessary to administer Sun[tm] systems running the Solaris 8 Operating Environment in a network environment. Students are taught how to maintain Sun systems, configure and troubleshoot the NFS, and configure the Network Information System (NIS) environment. See schedule

Network Administration for the Solaris™ 9 Operating Environment (30 hours)
Network Administration for the Solaris™ 9 Operating Environment (30 hours) The Network Administration for the Solaris™ 9 Operating Environment (Solaris OE) course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform network administration tasks, such as configuration and troubleshooting of a local area network (LAN). This course also provides hands-on experience with topics, such as Internet Protocol (IP) routing, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and IP version 6 (IPv6). UNIX® Essentials Featuring the Solaris™ 9 Operating Environment (30 hours) The UNIX® Essentials Featuring the Solaris™ 9 Operating Environment course provides students with the necessary knowledge and skills to use components of the desktop system, manage files and directories, create and modify files, control the user work environment, archive files, and use remote commands. This course is the first of a two-part series that students take in preparation for the Sun Certified System Administration for Solaris, Part I examination. See schedule
Intermediate System Administration for the Solaris ® 9 Operating Environment (30 hours)
Intermediate System Administration for the Solaris ® 9 Operating Environment (30 hours) The Intermediate System Administration for the Solaris™ 9 Operating Environment (Solaris 9 OE) course provides students with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform essential system administration tasks in the Solaris 9 OE, such as installing software, managing file systems, performing system boot procedures, performing user and security administration, managing network printers and system procedures, and performing system backups and restores. Advanced System Administration for the Solaris™ 9 Operating Environment (30 hours) The Advanced System Administration for the Solaris™ 9 Operating Environment course provides students with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform network basics, manage virtual file systems and core dumps, manage storage volumes, control access and configure system messaging, set up naming services, and perform installation procedures.
