Network+ Technician - (42 hours) |

This course objective is to build a strong
foundation in basic networking and networking concepts as
students pursue marketable certifications, while re-enforcing
well-rounded training through instructor-led classes, hands-on
lab work, and computer based training programs. The course is
a preparation for CompTIA Network+ certification.
What is Network +?
Network+TM is a testing program sponsored by the Computing
Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), that certifies the
knowledge of networking technicians with 18 - 24 months
experience in the IT industry. This test, is administered by
Sylvan PrometricTM, is available and was launched April 30,
1999.
Earning the Network+ certification means
that the candidate possesses the knowledge needed to configure
and install the TCP/IP client. This exam covers a wide range
of vendor and product neutral networking technologies.
Who may take the test?
Network+ is open to anyone who wants to take the test. There
is no specific requirement, except payment of the fee. The
exam is targeted for technicians with 18 - 24 months
experience in the IT industry. A typical candidate would have
A+ certification or equivalent knowledge, but A+ certification
is not required.
